Does anyone else have to deal with harmonic plumbing?

Karma Asked: Does anyone else have to deal with harmonic plumbing?

I live in south central Florida, on a barrier island. My landlord, certainly, leaves something to be desired… granted.I live in a single-family home and, while I couldn't count the problems with this structure if I tried, the plumbing is making me go crazy. It's a relatively new development, and by that I mean several months. The city has already told me that the lines out to the street are corroded beyond belief and they will need to be replaced… and should have been sometime in the nineties.

Simply put, that's not likely to happen. And, by not likely I mean "not a chance in Hell."It's happening with an increasing frequency, but my pipes… well, sing. It's a high-pitched frequency that can stop and start whenever any water is turned on… shower, washing machine, sink, et cetera.

How to fix it would be nice, what causes it also… but the big question is: Should I get renter's insurance (that I cannot afford) in case my house falls into a sinkhole or explodes in an apocalyptic geyser or something?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
